COMMON NAME: Bradford Callery Pear
FAMILY: Rosaceae
GROWTH HABIT: 30 - 50 ft in height with a 20 - 35 ft spread. Moderately conical (pyramidal) in youth and old age, although broadening with time.
FOLIAGE: Alternate, simple, broad-ovate to ovate, 1 1/2 - 3 in long, about as wide. Leathery lustrous dark green.
BUDS: Large, terminal and laterals of approximately same size, ovoid, elongated, 1/2 in long, intensely woolly, direty gray to gray brown.
BARK: Brown, nondescript
FLOWERS: White, 1/3 in across, malodorous, in full flower in early March/April. Born in 3 in diameter corymbs before or with the leaves.
FRUIT: Small rounded pome, 1/2 in across, russet-dotted, hidden by the foliage; present in great quantities.
