FOLIAGE: Needles blunt, 8 - 15 mm long, appearing 2-ranked by twisting of petioles.
BARK: Deeply grooved; ridges scaly, rounded.
FRUIT: Cones. Brown, ellipsoid, 1.5 - 2.5 cm long, the individual scales roundish.
NATURAL HISTORY: Moist soils.
